A: The answer to this is generally no, because the most efficient option would be an online business account, which allows you, without the need to travel to the UK, access to a UK GBP account. Opportunities may exist for non UK residents to open mainstream business bank accounts, however the costs and time it takes would probably be prohibitive, and you’d also need to visit to the UK in person to do so.
A: It is easy if you work and reside in the UK, although if you are a non-UK resident it becomes somewhat trickier, yet not impossible, to open a business bank account with the leading UK banks.

A: No. It isn’t necessary, and there aren’t any legal restrictions that prevent either non-UK residents or non-UK citizens from opening a UK business bank account. Because of the stringent procedures put into operation for overseas residents to prevent money laundering, fraud and illegal funding, there are consequently additional bank administration fees.
A: There are several available alternatives as follows.
A: Digital bank accounts are useful to those non-UK resident shareholders and directors who, for whatever reason, are unable to get to the UK. The paperwork and procedures in setting up the account are handled by professionals making it an easy process for non-resident directors.
A: It usually takes 2-3 weeks to complete the process of setting up your digital bank account although this does vary and can often be faster.
